Romans 5:2

Some people serve, and some people serve like Christ. Yesterday I was more than inspired by one particular person who serves like Christ.
Serving like Christ is about pure, and selfless love. It’s not about being selfish, it’s about serving as Christ serves. Jesus served everyone. He did not become someone’s friend, and desert them when or if something happened to them. He stuck with everyone. He gave of himself. He served with selfless love. He did not see others who may have been slightly different as not equal. He saw everyone the same. Everyone to Him had the same heart, the same abilities, the same love, the same spirit, and the same strength.
Seeing people in real life who serve like Christ, who give without being selfish, who see everyone as equal, who give without asking for anything in return, has changed my life. It’s changed the way I see people. It’s changed how I try to live and serve. But I also know that I’m not like the people I’m inspired by. And I never will be. They take serving and blow it out of the water. They have an amazing story I will never have. They have a love that is beyond words to see and hear about.
I can only hope and pray that before I am called home to Him, that I learn bits and pieces of what it means to serve like Him, and that I can be more thankful for those that already are doing that.
