The mighty guardian angel of the United States
Christ beside me. Christ before me. Christ behind me. Christ within me. Christ beneath me. Christ above me. Christ on my right. Christ on my left. Christ in every eye that sees me. Christ in every ear that hears me. Blessed Saint Patrick's Day!
Good St Patrick had a hard beginning to his life. Sold into slavery and harshly treated. Making one think of the improbabilities to anything other than a heart incurred with bitterness and anger for such cruelty. But this beloved Saint overcame the demons that tried to hold him down. Becoming a perfect example of what happens if we surrender to the will of God. Great things always happen when we do this.
Known as the"Apostle of Ireland", he was and is the first bishop of Armagh, and Primate of Ireland. He is credited with bringing Christianity to Ireland. Converting a pagan society.
When he was 16, he was captured by Irish pirates and taken as a slave to Ireland. He lived there for 6 years as an animal herder before escaping and returning home to his family. After becoming a cleric, he returned to Ireland and spread Christianity in Northern and Western Ireland. Later in life he became a bishop.
Let us honor this holy Saint this day, with love and respect as a valiant warrior and evangelist of God.
St Patrick pray for us!
