Abortion hurts women

It's not just a hashtag on Twitter or the words on a rally sign, but a very true statement: Abortion is a large-scale assault on human life and dignity which has taken a toll on our country, our families, and the people who are left in its wake. Not only is abortion medically unhealthy and unnatural; increases risk of breast cancer, and damages the reproductive system, but it also takes a large toll on its victims in other ways.

Today I came into contact with a man and his daughter who saw a sign saying "pray to end abortion" and a sign right next to it saying "adoption the loving option". When they saw the signs the father had an embarrassed sad look on his face. He looked away and then looked back at his daughter. His daughter looked very sad and devastated. Looking at them I could see so clearly that they were hurting. They both looked so destroyed. 
A little ways down there was another sign that said "Jesus forgives and heals", I really hope they saw that one.

After they were gone, all I could think about was God's great mercy and what a life changing impact It could have on them, just like It has on me. There are far too many girls like her in our country. It is troubling when people, especially those who have been through a lot, have a low level of self-worth and thus fear. When this is so, there is an absence in the virtues of faith and hope, and especially an absence of love in their lives. This is what leads most women to abortion.

No one deserves this. Every single human person is unique and has value and each one deserves to be loved. No matter who they are, what they've been through, or what they've done. Love is more powerful than any anger, guilt, or hurt. I see this best in the unconditional love of Jesus poured out on the cross. 
For ALL of us. 

I have met a few women who have had abortions. In some I can see desperation, anger and guilt, and in some a lack of identity.
Post abortive women have a high rate of depression and suicide. 
Abortion is also an invasive procedure that instead of working with the body as medical procedures do, abortion interrupts the natural process to take the life of the unborn child. As a result, there are often many damaging complications after an abortion. The chance of Breast cancer is increased by 44%.

Women, no matter how much faith they have & whether or not their moral lives are on target, deserve better than what the abortion industry has to offer. In the pro-life movement, we are called give them that help, kindness, and dignity they deserve.
