Jesus Christ, our King, shed so much blood for our salvation. Sent from God Himself to watch from Heaven, His only begotten Son, Himself shedding the drops of the Most Precious Blood. Like gold gathered up by the Angels of Heaven. I can see the tears flowing from their eyes as they wiped up the precious pearls. So meticulously, so carefully and then pouring them into the Chalice of Redemption. The chalice we partake in at each and every Mass.
From beginning to end, starting with the 40 days of fast that Jesus prepared His Holy Body on the Mount of Temptation or Mount Quarantania, also known as Jebel Quruntal, in Arabic. Located in the Judean desert, near the city of Jericho, in the West Bank. There, starting Jesus's torment. Then to follow, His agony in The garden of Gethsemane, where the Precious Blood fell on the ground. Documented forever.
What a Brave and Holy God we have. How merciful and loving. Any of us seeing our loved ones suffer the way Jesus did would have been quite an ordeal and trial. Poor Mary, our Mother, feeling in every sense everything that happened from beginning to end to Her beloved Son. Forgive us Mary. Forgive us God. Forgive us oh Holy Heaven, for partaking in this cruel passion. Like I have said before. None of us could have bore the sight of what our dear Lord looked like after the cruel scourging, crowning and crucifixion. Some pictures might be close to depicting it, but our eyes would not be able to look upon Him in His totality of suffering. Yet, Mary and some disciples did. Why is this thought not enough for my heart to stop all occasions of sin? We reopen the Sacred wounds every time we choose sin. God have mercy on our souls. Contemplate daily during this Lent, the Sacrifice of the most Precious Blood of Jesus and it will help you turn away from evil and sin. Cast your eyes on the sweet God who allows our free will to either love Him or disgrace Him. Ask for the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ to cover you daily, protecting us and saving us from eternal banishment.
Oh Precious Blood that fell upon the Earth in the Agony, cover us and protect us on our journey to everlasting life with You to remain forever with You in Heaven. Amen
