Beloved Saint Andrew
Have you ever felt like saying to our Lord, "where are you?". In those times of desolation while praying incessantly for relief or at least a sign of refuge in your dire need. Did you make Him go away for a bit? Did your choice to listen to the world or your own prideful revelations make Him disappear for a moment? Padre Pio says,"don't leave me Lord, you know what happens when you do!". It's true. All clarity, all peace, all resignation disintegrates like a vapor, once we sin. The sin shields us from feeling His presence, therefore leaving us defenseless in such an offensive world. Don't make Him go away and what's more don't make Him stay away. Our Guardian Angel can only do so much, powerful as he may be, he cannot change our will. We pray "to light and to guard to rule and to guide", but we do not listen. How can we follow him if we don't listen. He who was designed just for us and no one else. He is a helper to God and to us. But our will must be in Union with that of God's and God's alone. Haven't you ever felt helpless? Like the night would never end, until all at once, morning light breaks through and you feel relief. The feeling of Jesus returning to our side once again, only for us to realize that He never left us in the first place. To see it was us who left Him and in His gentle Mercy he welcomes us back into His arms time and time again.
Don't make Him leave you. You know what happens when He does. Sin weakens us. God strengthens us.
