On Praying to Mary

Dear Unbeliever,
You are loved. Thousands of believers around the world pray for your salvation probably without your knowing. As a body of Christ we care where you end up for all eternity. I want you to know that I pray for the right message that might reach your heart and pierce your soul. It might sound ridiculous that we place so much importance on eternity in this life, but please know that it does matter. You matter. And I pray that my message convey what this salvation business is all about. Please be blessed by my words.
I live in a world of prayer. “It is always possible to pray: The time of the Christian is that of the risen Christ who is with us always, no matter what tempests may arise. Our time is in the hands of God: It is possible to offer fervent prayer even while walking in public or strolling alone, or seated in your shop, ... while buying or selling, . . . or even while cooking. Prayer is a vital necessity. Proof from the contrary is no less convincing: if we do not allow the Spirit to lead us, we fall back into the slavery of sin. How can the Holy Spirit be our life if our heart is far from him? Nothing is equal to prayer; for what is impossible it makes possible, what is difficult, easy. . . . For it is impossible, utterly impossible, for the man who prays eagerly and invokes God ceaselessly ever to sin. Those who pray are certainly saved; those who do not pray are certainly damned. Prayer and Christian life are inseparable, for they concern the same love and the same renunciation, proceeding from love; the same filial and loving conformity with the Father's plan of love; the same transforming union in the Holy Spirit who conforms us more and more to Christ Jesus; the same love for all men, the love with which Jesus has loved us. "Whatever you ask the Father in my name, he [will] give it to you. This I command you, to love one another." (CCC 2743-2745).
I have been delivered from multiple ailments. “I sought the LORD, and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears,” (Psalm 34:4). I have a Friend who knows me and loves me, “And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account,” (Hebrews 4:13). I am never alone, because He is with me. “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age,” (Matt 28:20b). In a world full of loss, I have gained. “I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have complete boldness, so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. So what shall I choose? I do not know,” (Phil 1:20-1:22).
I struggled for a long time at the idea that God wanted my life. He wanted me to revere Him as Lord and I withdrew. I didn’t trust, and therefore turned my back at the One person who wanted what was best for me. I finally gave in and asked the Lord of Lords to be my personal Savior. It didn’t come easy, because I didn’t believe that He was real.
He’s real.
His love and unmeasurable kindness is real. His embrace and healing hands are real. As a believer of Jesus Christ, I believe in His deity, His sacrifice, and most importantly His atonement for my sins. How difficult it is to call myself a sinner when all I ever do is hurt others and myself without His grace. On my own, I break things, but with Him they are mended. He is my obsession and reason for living, He’s earned it. I would be nowhere without Him. I’ve received without giving, because my feeble hands and intentions couldn’t earn what He has to offer, which is love. And maybe you don’t feel like you need anymore love, but we do. We are unfulfilled and our hearts incomplete without His being.
I am forgiven. In all that I have done in the past 40 years. My sins are forgotten and I am made anew in Christ’s resurrection, it’s called forgiveness. My past is gone, Jesus agrees and it is done. I have no past, I am no longer remembered in my sins and I have been made anew. What greater gift is there than that? I have been forgotten as a sinful creation and I am remembered as reborn. A long state away from sinner. I am brand new and remembered as Christ’s own.
I am forgiven. Christ has erased my sins and made me His whole. “With bold confidence, we began praying to our Father. In begging him that his name be hallowed, we were in fact asking him that we ourselves might be always made more holy. But though we are clothed with the baptismal garment, we do not cease to sin, to turn away from God. Now, in this new petition, we return to him like the prodigal son and, like the tax collector, recognize that we are sinners before him. Our petition begins with a "confession" of our wretchedness and his mercy. Our hope is firm because, in his Son, "we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." We find the efficacious and undoubted sign of his forgiveness in the sacraments of his Church,” (CCC 2839). I am whole again only in Him and with HIm, without Him I am unworthy and full of sin. Sin worthy of death and Hell.
Hell is real.
Now as for hell, it is real. Hell as a matter of eternity is real. The one who is victorious will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. “But to the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur. This is the second death,” (Rev 21:7-8). That is what we choose when we fail to acknowledge the one true God. The one pure Reason to live for. Hell is a lake of burning fire and we choose this as our destiny when we reject the one true God. Maybe it seems inconsistent that a loving Father would send His people to hell, but if you think of it in terms of holiness it makes sense. If God is holy and can only associate with that which is also holy then it follows that our unholy life needs to be atoned for - which is who Christ is, a propitiation of our sins. God doesn’t send us to hell. He sends preachers and teachers to show us the way through sermons or messages. A message such as this one. I don’t want you to go to hell, I want you in heaven with those who believe in His sacrifice.
My redeemer lives. And all that He asks of me is that I believe that He died a brutal death to save me. Save me from an eternity of separation from Him, and more immediately relevant, saved me from a life of brokenness. I know what it’s like to believe that brokenness is my art, but it’s not. Brokenness is no joke, and the alternative of wholeness in Him is much more productive. Wholeness means that I get to walk this earth as a whole and not a fraction of my potential. Wholeness is much more appealing than brokenness.
You’re running out of time because we all die and don’t know when death will be here to take us. It could be minutes or years, nevertheless, there is a meter running out of time for everybody. Secure your eternity by saying two words that will save you: “I believe”. “I believe in you Jesus Christ as my Savior and make you Lord of my life this instant.” Brothers and sisters if you pray this simple prayer we will spend all of eternity with our celestial family. Please say this prayer.
I believe that we are all tied together as the body of Christ. And God has sent me with this message because I care about your eternity. Do something for yourself that is worthwhile and accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. Don’t let pride or satan get in your way. Say it, even though you’re not certain if you believe or not. God knows exactly who you are and where you are at. We come to Him sinful and sorrowful. He knows. He knows, because once you are saved He sends the Holy Spirit to abide in us. That’s God the Holy Spirit within us! How remarkable is that?! You will never be alone again. I promise you that.
“The Christian who unites his own death to that of Jesus views it as a step towards him and an entrance into everlasting life. When the Church for the last time speaks Christ's words of pardon and absolution over the dying Christian, seals him for the last time with a strengthening anointing, and gives him Christ in viaticum as nourishment for the journey, she speaks with gentle assurance:
Go forth, Christian soul, from this world
in the name of God the almighty Father,
who created you,
in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God,
who suffered for you,
in the name of the Holy Spirit,
who was poured out upon you.
Go forth, faithful Christian!
May you live in peace this day,
may your home be with God in Zion,
with Mary, the virgin Mother of God,
with Joseph, and all the angels and saints. . . .
May you return to [your Creator]
who formed you from the dust of the earth.
May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints
come to meet you as you go forth from this life. . . .
May you see your Redeemer face to face,” (CCC 1020).
Don’t be selfish and rebellious towards Christ. Be saved brothers and sisters. This is my sincere prayer for you.
Yours truly,
A Fellow Sinner
