Spiritually Alive in 2025?
The 52nd March for Life will pound the pavement with thousands of ProLife Advocates on January 24th, 2025, which is a peaceful protest on Washington, DC, summoning all lawmakers whether they are Federal, State, and County, to protect the vulnerable, those little souls who do not have voices. We are their voices! Globally, this is the largest human rights gathering, a peaceful event of dialogue and prayer. Nellie Gray will be smiling from her balcony in Heaven!
With Trump’s inauguration on January 20th, 2025, I believe the forty-seventh President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, will attend this life-saving event. This movement that perseveres to protect the innocent, is an expression of our faith, love, hope, and mercy on both the mother and the baby they nourish from the moment of conception. These women who carry a precious cargo, need us in any way that we can serve.
Five years ago, on January 20th, 2020, sitting President Donald J. Trump stated, reported by Laura Egan, January 24, 2020, 2:31 PM EST (NBC), “It is my profound honor to be the first president in history to attend the March for Life,” Trump said. “We are here for a very simple reason: to defend the right of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given potential.” Trump is a defender of the right to life but on his terms. Trump is not 100% on board with our Catholic Social Teaching. Pray for Trump and all our elected officials that God can change their minds and hearts.
With the upcoming event scheduled for January 24, 2025, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ website states: “We proclaim that human life is a precious gift from God; that each person who receives this gift has responsibilities toward God, self and others; and that society, through its laws and social institutions, must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence.” What is also significant here, the Bishops are including euthanasia when they used the words, “every stage of its existence” - from conception to natural death.
The theme for the 2025 March has changed. Quoting from the March for Life website, “During 52+ years of marching, the pro-life community has seen countless highs and lows, but the value of vulnerable unborn children and their mothers has not changed. Neither can our resolve to protect and provide for these vulnerable lives change, even in the face of setbacks and attacks from those who tragically fail to recognize their equal dignity. We hope that this year’s theme: “Life: Why We March” can be a source of renewed energy and focus so needed for this moment,” said Jeanne Mancini, President of the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, “Many in our nation see this issue as a cause that divides. May our humble voices and peaceful presence serve as a reminder of the beauty and dignity of every human life, and as an invitation to all Americans to come together in recognition of this truth and to serve the most vulnerable.”
Let’s take-five and grab your bible. In Psalms 139 David writes that God knows him inside and out. In fact, God knows what David is going to say and what he will do before he speaks or does anything! Then, David reveals that God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere present as described in verses 13-16. Inspired by the Holy Spirit: You formed my inmost being; you knit me in my mother’s womb. I praise you, because I am wonderfully made wonderful are your works. My very self you know. My bones are not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, fashioned in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw me unformed; in your book, all are written down; my days were shaped, before one came to be.
