The Gift-Giving Season

Well, are you bummed out yet with all the holiday static which ignores the true meaning of Advent, preparing for the coming of Christ, which brings us into Christmas, the gift-giving Season? Come with me, and let’s walk away from all the noise because it is not going away. Let’s find a quiet place and take five. On your way, grab your bible so we can read a few verses. Flipping through the New Testament, the Apostle Paul writes to the Ephesians and pens these words inspired by the Holy Spirit. In chapter 2, verses 8-9: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from you; it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so no one may boast. A good Catholic apologist would love to dive into all the truths that are revealed here but let’s keep a focus on the season of gift-giving. Christmas is about the eternal Gift that God gives us, the Incarnation of His only Son, Jesus.

God has generously given the Gift of His Son. Jesus, the Sacrificial Lamb, God’s Holy and Eternal One, covering our sins by His Grace. Our salvation was paid at a price. The Precious Cost - His Precious Life. This Christmas Season, renew and energize your Christ-like Spirit. You will be richly blessed by sharing, caring, loving, giving - above all - sacrificial living. Wrap your arms around those who are unloved, sorely distressed, sad, depressed, unjustly supressed, and counsel those who suffer with spiritual urrest. Always be praying, never straying. Stand in awe in God's Son’s light, not a quitter or a pew-sitter. Reading God's word diligently, steadfastly, and standing faithfully firm. Grace is never earned. It is freely given by God, but you must open and accept God’s Gift with humility of heart. Rejoice and profess Christ is Lord with your voice! Jesus’ Blessed Mother, our beloved Mother Mary, with a humble heart, delivered our Savior in a lowly stable, not a fairytale or fable. The Savior - our Savior is the ultimate Gift-Giver. His Life's Blood poured out, more splendid than gold or silver. During this forthcoming glorious Christmas Season, celebrate the Savior’s Birth! It is a joyous occasion! When our Lord’s earthly kingdom comes to an end, we will still celebrate this day in Heaven. But until then, Peace and Goodwill to all. Amen.
