Election Season

         Once again, it is time to elect a President of the United States.  I am of the opinion that all of us want the best for our nation. I am also of the opinion that the last four years leave much to be desired.  With our national debt soaring, inflation at the gas pump, food stores, and just about every other price soaring, it is time to change our ways.  Who do we turn for advice for making the right decision at the voting booth?  Do we vote for a candidate who professes joy?  This might be fine if the country was in better economic health and that we do not see major wars on the horizon.  Human advice is not perfect, because it cannot predict the future of who will serve the people of our nation the best.

         We do have one source for advice at our fingertips.  She is the patroness of our land.  By now, you know that I am referring to the Immaculate One.  Our Blessed Mother is a source of knowledge and wisdom.  Has the Blessed Mother been talking to our country by her actions during the campaign season?  I believe that She is communicating with us even through this article.  As we all know, there was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump on July 13. What most of us have forgotten is that July 13 is one of the dates of Our Lady appearing to the three children of Fatima, Portugal.

         Did Our Lady save President Trump’s life as she intervened on the life of Saint John Paul II when an attempt was made on his life on May 13, 1981?  Is Mary trying to tell us something?  Are we even listening?   Maybe, it is time now to pray to Her for her discernment as to her voting preference.

         Many years ago, I was taught a prayer in catholic grammar school that I still remember.  Before we pray, we must always give our Blessed Mother the cause that we seek answers.  The cause is, “Who will make a better President of the United States who will serve the needs of the American people and Our Blessed Mother’s intentions?  So, we now pray.  “Our Lady, Our Queen, and Our Mother, in the name of Jesus and for the love of Jesus, take my cause in hand and grant us good success.”  Pray this three times a day for wisdom to seek the proper person to rule our nation.  This prayer should be used for all elective offices in our land.  Then, follow her guidance.  Students should also use this prayer before all exams and tests.
