From today's Gospel: "And he asked them,
"But who do you say that I am?"
Peter said to him in reply,
"You are the Christ."
Now, each of us so that we can KNOW Jesus for the Savior Messiah of our life---we too, must ask our own self----"Who do you say I am?"
Who are you, the person that has be shaped by the Potter's Hand all the years of your life? Who do you say you are? What adjectives, would you use to describe the person you are or what nouns list your accomplishmetns?
Start to list them and if you find on that list words like----hateful, angry, guilty, fearful, anxious, no good, unworthy just to list a few---then STOP, LOOK and THINK. WHY do I see my self in this way?
All of these emotions, deep feelings come from the past events of your life. You cannot be the awesome, great person you are: the person God so carefully shaped and molded into who you are today---if, you are clinging with one hand to the past events or traumas of you life! Time to let go and reach out for the Hand of God's healing merciful forgiving love!!!
To go forward, even to be fully present HERE now, today; you must let go of the past. Forgive yourself, forgive others and forgive God too for allowing all that past to have happened!
Do you want to be WELL? Walking hand in hand with God? Then rise up or let go of the past; get up off that mat of misery and WALK with Jesus, taking up your cross and seeing it as the a great blessing that enabled you to be a person of great worth. A person of compasssion, mercy, love, understanding and discerning how the memories now enable you to walk with another struggling with their poor image of themself. Be the gift and blessing that you are!!
Who do you say you are? A looser or a recoverer, fully saved by the grace of God's love. If we are to be JESUS to others, living in God's love, go forth from the past, rising and walking always with God at your side. Father, Jesus and especially the HOLY SPIRIT who gifts you so you can not only walk, but run, and DANCE and be glad --filled with the JOY of the LORD!!!
Born the youngest of nine children, raised VERY Catholic across the street from Immaculate Heart of Mary church and school—Mom and Dad led by example and word their FAITH in God and saw to it that I was given 12 years of Catholic Education. (Mount St. Mary’s Academy/1965)
But, most importantly, because of my parents’ spiritual renewal after attending Cursillo Weekends, I too went on a retreat at our beloved Subiaco Abbey in Arkansas and there, at age 20, gave my life totally, surrendering all to my Lord and best Friend. This was my “Pentecostal” event that left me, like all the early Christians, on fire with God’s love and forever changed.
My husband Robert and I have been married for 54 this year in a marriage arranged by God. We have 8 children, two in heaven, 24 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. The story of our life together can be found in a book titled “My Journey, My Cross-As the Journals End,” published by Westbow Press . Our life together has been one awesome up and down roller coaster ride which enriched my heart with so many of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have found that the only way, Wisdom, Understanding, Words of Knowledge, Discernment, and Healing can be received is first by experiencing in your life the hurts of others. (and you yourself a sword will pierce)* so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2 v 35.
God has blessed me also many other talents and skills--but sometimes, blessings/gifts can and have caused problems or conflict in my life, as I am human and all too quickly that part of me shows up. Thank You God that You also show up!
