Comedy and Architecture

We’ve seen some horrific comedy

That profanes our Catholic faith dramatically

But too we’ve seen comedy performed

To soothe those who have been wounded

We’ve also seen people who seemingly cannot see

Blind not physically but emotionally

A wooden beam stuck in their eye

Placed there even worse by them not you or I

Architects build with lumber and steel

Aluminum concrete and with zeal

Comics create their material wonderfully

On making fun of them us either raucously or ethereally

You see sometimes we are our own builders

When we really should be someone’s helpers

Or we create around us unnecessary comedy

The kind that causes ourselves and others harm emotionally

When you’re saddened due to lack of love

When all you want is a grand hug

Go to who can help keep you from going askew

Call on Jesus for He always loves you no matter what you say or do

Trust in Him to make you laugh

Just look at His Father’s animals like a mouse chasing a giraffe

Too he can help you remove that log that you have stuck in your eye

And send you on your way happily to our trusting Father in Heaven on High
