Discipleship: How to Listen
I, Jim Moran, a baptized member, from birth, of the Universal Church, and a proclaimer of the Word in my parrish, living in the USA, am writing this letter to outline and remind all Christians of the obligations, they promised or had promised for them, upon baptism into the Holy Spirit.
I am doing so to help you remember the teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ who, through his ministry, suffered public humiliation, bodily injury and death on a cross at the hands of the authorities of the time, while outlining how one baptized into the Spirit is obliged to act according to the Word as a view of the whole and not just a convenient part of the Word.
I will be posting this missive in three parts over the next week.
First installment. We go back to the beginning of the Word.
In John 1, 1-5: it is stated that; In the beginning was the Word; the Word was in God’s presence and the Word was God. He was present to God in the beginning. Through Him all things came to be. Whatever came to be in Him found life, life for the light of men. The light shines on in darkness, a darkness that did not overcome it.
Remember that as outlined in the Old Testament, the chosen people repeatedly turned away from God which caused our God great consternation and led to the Flood and Noah. Note though, that the law was not defined until Moses received the Law from Our Father.
Throughout the entire history of Judean/Christian belief as outlined in the Torah and the Bible, the command has always been; Keep My Word. Moses received the Word from God our father on Mount Sinai. From that time until now, many people have decided, based on their free will, to not listen to the Word. What they needed then and need now, is access to the Paraclete to help them remember the Word.
