A Time For Everything

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens

Last week I was going through a very difficult time. For the past 4 years, I've been very blessed with a great Mentor. But we don't always see eye to eye. There was a lot of anger, negativity, and our relationship could have easily been done. But something changed last week.

Before last week, I was trying very hard to control everything. That felt comfortable to me, and safe. But it wasn't until I gave up and let God be in control that everything changed, and I learned a few lessons. I think now that God had everything planned out. I think He enabled the bad to happen so that I could see the good in tough love. I think He wanted both of us to see what can come from forgiveness. I also think He wanted us to learn from that day, and see His guiding, and loving hand in our relationship. We might be brought apart, but He leads us back together. That leaves with a feeling that cannot be described.

If last week never happened, yes some things would have been better because a lot of angry words were said. But other things would have been bad. I would not have learned so many lessons. I wouldn’t have realized God’s timing, or learned the value of forgiveness. God's grace would not have been handed to me either.

Today, I'm at peace. I'm learning that we need to let God be in control. I'm learning that timing is everything. I'm learning to be grateful for the people God places in our lives. I'm learning to be thankful for gifts. And I am thankful that the one who knows our hearts knows what is best for us and when.
