Do Protestants Actually Believe Sola Scriptura?

The Catholic News today passed along the news that Mother Angelica, the founder of the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) passed into eternal life on Easter Sunday. Very appropriate. She started EWTN in 1981 as a Catholic answer to the 700 Club and PTL that were prominent at the time. Later EWTN Radio came along as well. Now EWTN has a worldwide audience through not only satellite and cable systems internationally (it is on our system here in the remote mountain reaches of the Philippines) but also through their website and streaming of their programs.
Apostolates such as ours, Catholic Answers and others owe a debt of gratitude to Mother Angelica. More Catholics are hungry to know what and why they believe it due to the groundwork laid by this blessed lady (as I’m sure she will officially be known one day). Of course, as Catholics more of us now have access to her than ever could have in this life…the beauty of the Communion of Saints that we profess every Mass.
Rest in peace, Mother. We’ll carry on from here.

I was a Cradle Catholic from the time that I was born through my teen years. I slowly moved away from the Church and as a young adult I became an Evangelical Christian.
