The Windows of our Soul {Day 14}

Today’s reflection is on spontaneous prayer. Do you ever get the feeling that you really don’t know if you know enough of about prayer?
What I mean is, we have all these types and categories of prayer, it can be overwhelming sometimes and sometimes it can be a distraction to praying.
Truth is that we pray all the time, we just might not call it that. Our interior dialogue is constant, heck we talk to ourselves more than we talk to anyone else. But in that space is our Lord, that’s the place where we at one with Our Lord.
So the question then becomes, what does our interior dialogue look like? Are we constantly complaining? You know, I don’t want to do this or that? I know I have to succumb to those types of thoughts.
Have you ever been in the parking lot in the rain and pray for a parking space close to the door?
And it was answered? Spontaneous pray!!
I know that is a little simplistic. To me it is just about getting in the habit of talking to the Lord instead of just talking to myself. Of course, we must listen to hear Our Lord speak to us through our thoughts and inspirations.
It is amazing what happens to our day when we include him in it. He structures my time so that everything flows. We enjoy a dialogue that is personal like being with my husband, only better.
You see, to me, then every moment has more meaning, He is teaching me as I go about my day. Even my distractions have meaning and believe me sometimes we have words about the amount and types of distractions that come my way.
It is that easy conversation that we have with ourselves anyway, just invite him to be a part of it.
