You Are The Light Of The World

One of the best ways that we can know about Jesus is through the scriptures. It is there that his life, death and resurrection are laid out.
His lineage, why is this so important! Have you thought or been taught about your lineage? It’s important, so important that now a days we have sites like Ancestory.com and now you can have your DNA analyzed to get a more accurate account of who you are.
So yes the Bible, maps out Jesus’s lineage, so we know that he is from the House of David, which links the Old and the New Testament together in such a way that it is a continuation, a natural progression.
We know about his mother and infancy. We know that at age 12, he decided to stay at the temple, while his family traveled back to Nazareth after the Passover. Every time I read this passage, all I can think about is Our Lady, losing God.
But if we really want to know Jesus, we must read the Bible, learn his teachings. For it is in his teaching that he reveals who he is and what he is about. He also teaches us about his/our father in heaven.
The problem is that we do not read them in a personal, conversational type of way. The way that he would speak to us if we were sitting right in front of him. However, that is exactly the way we should read them. As if we were sitting right in front of him, or were there at the time they occurred.
When we place ourselves, personally there, and read the words of scripture in this way, they penetrate our souls in a deeper more meaningful way. In a personal, intimate way, a way that only Our Lord will teach you. It is a unique way, because it is like every personal relationship, we may know the same person, but our relationship although similar it is not the same. It is unique.
As it should be. Is our uniqueness something we ponder? I mean, do you/I really believe that we are unique? A one of a kind masterpiece? Created and molded by our creator to fulfill a purpose that only we can fulfill? So when read the scriptures we have to be open to the unique message given to us as to how we are to live our lives.
Yes, they can be read in generalities, for the masses, but when we listen at the heart level, with a personal relationship in mind, Our Lord will illuminate our hearts and minds in ways we could never predict. We will come to know Jesus as we come to know our own selves, pondering anew our own uniqueness.
