The Magi followed the Star that led them to the Messiah

As I was reflecting on God's mercy one Saturday evening just after I prepared my Sunday homily, I recalled what had happend during that day. I saw images of real people young and old alike whose lives were transformed by God’s tender and loving mercy. First thing I did that morning was to hear confessions of our first-communicants.
It was held inside the Church. Still vivid in my memory was the boy who before he started to speak, sobbed and just mumbled his words, I felt his remorse and sorrow. His parents or catechist would have encouraged him to trust on God’s mercy. I advised him never be afraid or be ashamed to cry or shed tears because it’s a gift and through his tears, God is delighted and pleased with him and would bring peace and healing. I consoled him and he said: thank you father for helping me I now realized how much God loves me.
An hour after, I said a memorial mass for a Filipino family and i saw faces of sadness and grief. The family approached me and expressed their happiness that despite of what had happened wherein they are still mourning, I led them to reflect on God’s mercy that brings hope.
In the hall, a retreat on God's mercy for four hundred people was being held and the people were silently listening. I believed they were reminded on how much God loved them. This event was an image of people who were moved to repentance and conversion which we hoped could follow after this retreat wherein tremendous graces of mercy would begin to pour down.
We have to go to Christ Cathedral to listen to this year’s Immigration Summit, and I remembered Bishop Gomez’s reflection on God's mercy on the refugees and immigrants that we need to hear their stories which would somehow help us understand the mercy of God.
I said Mass with the Federation of Filipino Rosary Groups after I returned to my parish. Here I have to deliver my homily on the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Again, I spoke about the mercy of God. Finally, another confession was to be heard from the parishioners.
This Saturday was Indeed, a day full of the mercy of God. I thanked Him for allowing me to be His instrument of mercy.
