Let Go I Got This!! (Day 19)

Today’s reading is about seeing the miracles in everyday life.

Your friend calls you, you glance at the time, and you know you really don’t have time to talk, but you answer the phone, that’s being a miracle for someone or them for you.

It’s about staying rooted in the present moment by trusting that whatever you needed to get done today will get done with time to spare. We are so hurried and on the go that we will not, cannot slow down.

But if we are to be miracles for others and them for us, we are going to have to slow down. Sure the Lord will use us as we are, we will just continue to miss the spiritual meaning of our day.

There is spiritual meaning in everyday, as every day we are alive, we have a specific job that only we are able to do. Perhaps it is just to be a loving ear to someone who needs to vent.

We all know that when we take that time, we are the ones who are edified, as God is not outdone in generosity.

We also know the feelings we have when we have put our needs before all else. We think by doing this, we will get what we need. More often than not our day is filled with more stress and less time. This is Our Lord begging us to trust him.

Take a moment and think about your own life. Ponder the times when you took the unexpected call. I bet that memory is bringing a smile to your face and joy in your heart.

Now think of the times when you are just too busy to do the littlest thing for someone else. Your focus is on yourself and your needs, we all have days like this, perhaps you are having one of those days today. I bet your heart is heavy, perhaps filled with anxious stress. You know the feeling, there is not enough time, it’s like the clock goes faster.

This reading brought this to mind, to my attention in my own life. We are after all only human, and putting others needs before our own is not really a natural act, at least not on a regular basis.

But the spiritual lesson is the same nonetheless. I can imagine Our Lord yelling out to us, “Let Go I Got This!! TRUST ME!”

It’s so simple.
