Faith and Admiration

When you take a look at faith through the eyes of a child, it’s so different than an adult’s. It’s innocent. They believe what they see in books, what they hear from others, and what they learn. They see Jesus as a man dressed in white with a long brown beard. They know heaven as a place in the sky where you go when you die. They believe that Jesus and God are one in the same.
I just finished reading the book, “Miracles from Heaven.” It’s a great story with a lot of faith in it. It’s about a 9-year-old girl who has a lot of sickness in her life. Despite having health issues though, she is very child like. She is always playing with her 2 sisters, and imaging in the way that any child should. The 3 sisters love to climb trees, and one day while they were doing that, there was an accident. It was during that accident that the 9 year old girl goes to Heaven and sees things, and then comes back to Earth.
She sees Jesus. She sees relatives, and while she is in Heaven, she is miraculously healed from all of her health issues. When she comes back, she is able to describe what she saw there. She is able to describe what Jesus was really like, and what it’s like in Heaven. And through all of that, her faith and the faith of her family is increased.
Through her sickness, her family learned to rely on God. But after she was healed, her family learned about the faith of a child, and how deep that can really be. Her prayers, her pleas to God were all innocent, but pure. She changed lives with that faith, and brought others to know Jesus Christ.
It’s humbling to be inspired by the innocent faith of a child. It’s also very inspiring to see their beliefs, and also feel my own faith being strengthened because of the faith of children.
