Why Is It Important For Catholics To Know Our Faith And Stand Up In Public For What We Believe?

For too long Catholics have rejected their responsibility to live their faith and explain how it differs from the social progressive and liberal democratic perspectives promoted by the media.

Catholics need to know their faith and live by its principles. Too many Catholics are baptized pagans who are ignorant of our faith. They pick and choose what they want to believe.

Most of the time they follow the relativism perspective, "Everything is expedient. There really is no right and wrong. Each person has the privilege of self-determination."

As far as Pope Francis, he comes from a socialist type society where the rich become richer on the backs of the poor through economic oppression. His perspective on St. Francis and the importance of his teachings is spot on.

Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.

We will never help others get involved with the Holy Spirit without our loving them first. The good news is that Pope Francis cannot change Church doctrine on faith and morals when he speaks "excathedra" if they are contrary to the historic teachings of the Church.
