If God Had A Phone....

One of my favorite quotes comes from St. Catherine of Siena. She says, "Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire."
So much of the time, people are trying to outdo each other, be better than others, have more than their neighbor, be smarter, prettier, richer than others. Things of the world have become more important than the things of God. Being the best, looking the best, having the most money have come what people are after.
But God created us to be ourselves. If we are who God created us to be, and not trying to be someone else, better things will happen. One example of this is one of my personal heroes; someone who emulates this lesson every day. She does not try to be another person. She does not try to be smarter, better, or richer. She has taken the beautiful gifts and blessings that God has given her, and has set her world on fire. Every day, she amazes me with all that she is capable of. All of us can be that way. All of us were given gifts by God, and they are all unique. We can all set our own world's on fire. We can all affect the world in a positive way. We don't have to be rich, smarter than everyone we know, prettier than others, or better than others to set the world on fire. We simply need to be us, the best us we can be doing God's will each and every day.
