Truth

What I am about to say here is something that I really believe that is not said to people these days. So forgive me if I offend and if you really believe that I am wrong in saying this, then I ask for your prayers not your criticism.

Are there some people that are thinking that just because they were baptized or confirmed that they have a ticket to be with God in heaven? I go to Mass every week, so yes I will go to heaven. You say that you go to Confession sometimes.

But I ask, when you confess and ask God for forgiveness, does it really come from a heart that is truly sorry and in pain because you have sinned against a God that loves you? When you say “please forgive me” is there really change happening in your heart? Are you truly saying “God from this point out, I will do (with your help) everything not to do this again. If not, then why do you go to Confession? Let me share something with you. In the Bible it says;

Luke chapter 13 starting with verse 25 through 28.

“When once the master of the house has risen and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, Lord, open to us, then he will answer you, I do not know where you come from. Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. But he will say, I tell you, I do not know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of evil! In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you yourselves cast out.”

What is this saying? It says that you can go to Mass or Church and be taught, you can even partake of the Lord's Supper the Eucharist (eat and drink) and still not step foot into heaven. How can this be you ask? I did all that I was told to do.

I ask you though, Did you LIVE as Christ taught us. Were you a true friend? Did you truly (in your heart) change to leave all the worldly things behind? Did you make it a point to talk to Jesus as often as possible? How can you say you love someone but only talk to them every now and then? Is that how you show your spouse or your children or parents that you love them? To only get together with them every now and then. You say that you don’t feel anything when you go to Mass. How do you know what to even look for when you don’t even try to have a relationship with your God? Do you think that God is just a mighty Being that is just so far above you that there can’t be anything close to an actual relationship? God is in reality so personal with you that….Well let me just give you a few verses from Gods Word.

Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5;

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.

Matthew chapter 10 verse 30;

But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.

That’s a God that wants a one on one relationship with you. He loves you beyond measure. If you let him in your heart, and I mean truly in your heart, he will even talk with you, sometimes in small whispers that you hear inside your head, sometimes through the words you read in his Word, sometimes in just a gentle breeze blowing. So listen, I know he speaks,

You still doubt of God's love and wanting a REAL relationship?

Look all around you, God made this world and all that is on it for us. I’m not going to go through the creation story at this point, but it’s there in Genesis, just read it for yourself.

In John Chapter 3 verse 16;

For God so loved the world he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

WHAT?!!!! God loves you so much his Son come down from heaven, came down to this world of ours, took on this flesh to become man. And Jesus came knowing full well of what was in store for him. He came to show us and teach us how and what we need to do to form that relationship, then to die for you and me. To get back to the place that God originally created us to be. For Him to be our God. He wants to walk with you and talk with you. To protect you when you need it. All it takes is you coming to him with a heart that wants to change, to start a new life and leave the life of this worldly living behind. Let Jesus take control. It really is great when you think about it. You live without having to worry about anything. Knowing that God will look after you. Am I saying that there won’t ever be any problems or times of strife? I’m afraid not. Unfortunately there is still the devil to deal with. But know this. That whatever he throws at you, you have Jesus with you and He has already beaten the devil. Believe in Jesus and there will be a victory over every obstacle.

So you see like you go about searching for a relationship, for someone to love and love you, so does Jesus. He wants things to be personal. When you willing to have Jesus help with that change of heart, I promise he will be there willing to forgive everything you ever did, totally wash you clean for a new life a new start. BUT IT'S YOU THAT HAS TO BE WILLING TO HAVE THE WANT TO CHANGE.

Let me ask something and don't just give a quick answer. Really think this through. If I were to see you out and about in your everyday life. Maybe at your job or run into you at the store. What would I see. Would I see Christ in you or would I see someone just like everyone else?

Let me tell you a story I was told once:

There was a pastor at a local church and he was having a conversation with another pastor from another church. The first pastor starting talking about belonging to a local gym in town and how he loved to go there to work out. Good thing right? He had belonged to this gym for about two years. Well he starting talking about how nice it was to go to the gym and nobody knew he was a pastor. How just blended in with the rest of the world there. How does this strike you? According to the bible we are supposed to be a light in this world to bring people to Jesus. If you are just going through life and no one around you even knows that Jesus is a part of you, then how does that make you a follower of Christ? Matthew chapter 5 verse 14; You are the light of the world, a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. If you truly carry Christ in you, you cannot help but show that to the world. How can we be the light in this world if we are trying so desperately to be a part of this world, to blend in? If you are trying to be liked by this world then how can you be a follower of Christ? We are called to be in this world but not of this world. We CAN NOT serve both the world (which is the devil) and God. Matthew chapter 6 verse 24; No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other.

Either God shows in your everyday life or he doesn't. That's the choice you need to make. Are you willing to truly build a relationship with your God and show the world that there is a God that loves them? You can't have anything with someone without building a relationship first. You build relationships with your friends, your souses, your children. Why then not have a real relationship with God? Unless of coarse you are the person that is not really sure he is real or is so far above the world and therefore can't possibly have a relationship with him. I can only say the words, you have to search in your heart. Your soul/spirit truly knows the truth, its your mind that must be changed. Your eyes of your heart opened to what is and has always been standing right there. A God waiting for his child to return into his out stretched arms. He longs to bring each of us close and hold us tight. To share the REAL love he has for each one of us. All it takes is you willing to change your heart and mind and come to him asking for forgiveness. This starts a true relationship with God. One that can not be hidden.
