A Step Beyond Faith Part 2

Romans 12:1
I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living, holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual worship.
Ephesians 4:24
Put on the new man, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
Colossians 3:12
Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, Holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness and patience.
1Peter 1:14-16
14. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, 15. But as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct, 16. Since it is written “you shall be holy for I am holy”.
How can we even think we shouldn’t strive for holiness or can’t become holy? So many places in the Bible, we are called to holiness. Is not the Bible the word of truth? The Word as given by God? Then who are we to say we can’t be holy? I say it's time to stop putting limitations on God. Through God's grace all is possible. Stop trying to make excuses as to why you don’t move forward with God. Just admit it and put it out that you just don’t want to give that much of yourself to our Lord. Why? Is it Fear, or Trust? We lack LOVE. We need a love so strong that we willingly put our Lord above EVERYTHING. A love so deep, we don’t care what others think because of our love. Our Lord is our life. Does this take anything from us? Yes, but nothing of any importance. Out of love, we should want to dedicate as much of our time and our life to our Lord as possible.
Do you think the saints were perfect or that they became saints because they were special? They were human just like you and me. They became saints through love and dedication to our Lord. A love that made them want to do only what was pleasing to Him. To put God above everything, no matter the sacrifice. Do you think they achieved this on their own? No, it can only be achieved through God's grace, love and help. GUESS WHAT? He didn’t just promise grace, love and help to the saints. He promised it to all of us. I pray that we all can love like that. Stop trying to limit God. Stop saying I can’t, because I can’t isn't right. Instead start saying all things are possible with Christ, even with a sinner like me.
