Time is fleeting - a whisper of a breeze
softly blows and softens the furrows
between my brows. Worries fall away
like intricate snowflakes shimmying across
the sky in a perfectly choreographed dance.
The chill of wintry air calls me out -
a door opens from a once solitary chasm.
Frigid staccato breaths, puffs of white smoke rise.
A dismal existence in subtle shades of gray
over my shoulder, outside of plain view.
Ahead a pale, warm, effusive light cascades
and envelops me through and through.
Urges me onward emboldened to face each day
with a steely resolve and brave countenance.
A certain stillness, waterfall of emotions flow downstream.
