So He Does Exist

For some of us, our whole life is wrapped around a strong desire for faith and sacrifice. We spend our time searching for ways to provide for our families and for ourselves. We tend to lose track of it as it becomes more and more elusive.
I can remember not so long ago when I prayed that the day simply would not end. I counted the hours and moments as they went by and enjoyed just being alive. Such is the fate as we grow; we get mired in the everyday and miss the chances for setting time aside for ourselves.
I tend to think that if I stop long enough, I can see the world go by and this frightens me. Does it frighten you? It’s like standing on a railroad platform and racing to meet the train only to realize it has left the tracks. You can see the train off in the distance. You are now alone. It is so often that I feel I have been left behind, by both time and circumstance.
But I remind myself that there is always another way to get to where we are going. We just need courage enough to take it. And, offering ourselves up for another doesn’t mean that we miss out on our own opportunities.
In many families, it is the mother who is at the center of activity. She is the one who plans and makes sure that we have what we need in life. Rely on her, depend on her, support her and praise her. Pray for her and cherish her. You would be amazed at all the things that present themselves to us when we sacrifice a little for someone else without regard for personal gain.
I truly believe that in giving a little, we get a lot in return. We are, by nature, a society of borrowers and I consider myself to be one of the biggest. We tend to grab a little light from everything and each person we meet. We attach ourselves to its brilliance and marvel at the way it feels. I have to admit that I too need it in my daily life. It has become a way by which I measure my successes and failures. Don’t give up on yourself, there is always time. Don’t be afraid to give up on some things for the sake of others. It will come back to you unfolded, stretched out, brighter than ever before. Even if we cannot own it, God lets us lease the light, for a little while at least, in our brief time here on Earth.
May God bless you and keep you and may His peace be with you, always.
