Appeal to Nebraska (And the World)

As a convert to the Catholic Faith I'm often asked why I became Catholic. Baptized Episcopalian, raised faithfully in the Episcopal Church, and a product of 14 years in the Lutheran School system (LCMS), converting to Catholicism seems unlikely.
Becoming Catholic seems an even more unlikely result considering my strong anticatholic dispositions in high school. I often made fun of Catholics and berated them for being wrong about pretty much everything. Saints? Mary? Purgatory? Catholics? Please. What a bunch of idiots.
So how did such an avowed protestant become Catholic?
I fell in love.
I became Catholic because I encountered Jesus Christ in the fullness of his mercy, grace, truth and love. This love affair with Jesus served as the foundation for my conversion and continues to write the adventure of living the Christian life.
In the next few weeks I will share more about my conversion and we will explore what the gospels reveal about the Catholic Faith. I hope to express how Jesus' love changed my hardened heart and I hope to open your eyes to the beauty of the Catholic Faith.
