Becoming One with Christ

God made us for human contact. God wanted us to have relationships. He wanted us to feel emotions, but more importantly God wanted us to love and made each one of us perfect in the eyes of Him. Yet, it is sad that we, as humans, do not see ourselves perfect through the eyes of God. We judge others; we cast the first stone; we fight. We at times can just be down right cruel to others.
In the process of getting hurt and being hurt, we build these huge walls. In fact, it is safe to say, that we build an empire around our heart. By building the empire, we are protecting our hearts from being hurt or more importantly from letting anyone into our hearts including God. Our walls are so perfect in our mind that we start to push away the important people in our lives. We push away our friends, our spouses, and our family, but in the process, we are pushing God out of our lives. We all get to the point where we think we can do this on our own.
Reality is that we cannot do this alone. We are human just like the disciples. We are fearful of standing alone and at times we think it is easier to stand with everyone else, than with God. However, God knows. God is the one who gave us free will. God is the one that created Eve so Adam would have someone. Yet, we need to realize that without God we are nothing. We forget that God meets us right where we are at. God can care less if we are not perfect when we come to meet him! He just wants us to come home. He wants us to have a relationship with Him.
In the midst of everything that I have done, I remember Father telling me "It is a two way relationship." Not a relationship where I need to give one hundred and ten percent, and Christ will only give twenty percent. It is the only relationship where I do not need to worry about giving all my energy and not getting the same amount of energy in return. The more I remember to allow God into my life, then everything else falls into place. More importantly, God is willing to be there no matter how much I forget to love him.
Over the course of this journey with allowing God into my life, everything has come full circle. By allowing God and Christ to be number one in my life, everything else has fallen into place. At no point do I need to be perfect At no point do I need to tell Christ that I cannot go to Mass because I am not worthy. At anytime, I can go to Christ and just talk to him without feeling judged. The best part is that no matter what decision I make, good or bad, God will still love me. To me, allowing God into my heart is the best feeling in the world!
