Celebrate Or Not

Last night a huge storm was expected here with lots of lightning, heavy rain, lots of wind, and even a chance of a tornado. It ended up being not as big as was planned on which was a good thing. And after it was done, lots of rainbows, and double rainbows were spotted. That got me thinking about rainbows, and what they have to do with God. Are they really a sign from Him? Are they really an answer to prayer? Are they really a sign that He is speaking to us?
According to God’s word, they are a sign. Genesis 9, verse 13 says, ” I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. ” To me, that says that a rainbow is a sign of hope. It’s God’s way of telling us that we will get through whatever storm we may be going through. It’s His way of telling us He is with us. It is a sign that He is hearing our prayers and is answering them.
There is also something unique about the rainbow and the Bible. There are 7 colors in a rainbow, and as we all know, 7 is a very important and significant number in the Bible.
I love rainbows. I love their beauty. And I am always sure to thank God for His beautiful gift to us after the storm.
