Disney’s ‘Lightyear’ is LGBTQ indoctrination for children

Once again Disney and Pixar have proven they have no interest in providing children with entertainment that is fun and enjoyable. They have one agenda and that is to push anti-Christian values on children and their families. This is proven with the newest movie “Lightyear”, the Toy Story spinoff.

It is no accident that Lightyear is being released in the middle of LGBTQ Pride Month and presents homosexuality themes in the movie. Buzz Lightyear’s friend, Hawthorne, is depicted as having a homosexual relationship with another woman, including a same-sex kiss in the movie. The controversial scene was initially removed from the movie but put back in by Pixar in March. The decision to put the scene back in the movie came on the heels of advocacy from the Pixar’s LGBTQ employees.

The scene depicting the homosexual kiss is meant to be a way of showing Buzz Lightyear what he is missing in life. The takeaway? If your child is unhappy and “missing something” in their life, then your child is missing the joy of homosexuality. That is the message of the movie and the message the kiss attempts to convey to Buzz. This scene and its indoctrination, according to a statement provided to Reuters by Galyn Susman, the producer of the movie, is staying. Her statement reads, “We’re not going to cut out anything, especially something as important as the loving and inspirational relationship that shows Buzz what he’s missing by the choices that he’s making, so that’s not getting cut,” she told Reuters.

As Christians, we should take a stand against the indoctrination of homosexuality to children. We are expected by the Lord to live a life of purity and teach our children to do the same. We are expected to teach our children to live according to the ways of the Lord and homosexuality is intrinsically disordered, as the Church has already proclaimed.

“Train a boy in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not swerve from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

It is our responsibility to train our children in the ways of the Lord so that they will serve the Lord their entire life. Homosexuality is not the way they should go. It is not the way of Christ. Parents do not have the privilege of just saying “it’s just a Disney move.” It’s indoctrination and promotion of sexual immorality, which is an abomination to God. It is encouraging your child to be accepting of homosexuality and, as Christians, we are to never accept sin.

“Therefore, God handed them over to degrading passions. Their females exchanged natural relations for unnatural, and the males likewise gave up natural relations with females and burned with lust for one another. Males did shameful things with males and thus received in their own persons the due penalty for their perversity. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God handed them over to their undiscerning mind to do what is improper.” (Romans 1:24-28)

“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; such a thing is an abomination.” (Lev. 18:22)

Christians need to stop justifying the use of entertainment as acceptable and allowing Hollywood to raise our children. We need to stop placing the “acceptability” banner on a movie by saying “it’s just a movie” when it promotes things that are directly opposed to God’s Word and Church teaching.

“Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered’. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.” (CCC 2357)

If homosexuality and homosexual acts are “under no circumstances” to be approved, then that also goes for Buzz and his homosexual friends. Under no circumstances should Christians endorse or approve of this movie.

The film has already been banned in Persian Gulf nations such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait because these countries have laws making homosexuality illegal. Additional countries outside the Gulf have also banned the movie and more, such as China, are expected to ban it. Christians have been silent for too long in the United States and need to take a stand against our children being indoctrinated to the lie that it is acceptable to be gay and have homosexual relationships. This is not acceptable by God. It is a lie from the pit of hell and parents need to begin parenting rather than allowing Hollywood to raise their children. Hollywood will never help your child follow Christ.

 If you want your Child to be raised in the way of the Lord, Lightyear is not that way.
