Relativism: The Bermuda Triangle to the Moral Compass

Every generation has a time when they become a little bit rattled, a little uneasy, and somehow things seem be just different than it used to be. We start getting a bit more relaxed, a little more worldly, and society slowly but surely, keeps on changing.

My dear reader, we are under attack. Our enemy is Relativism. Relativism is not new; Satan has been using it for literally, millennia. As humans, we tend to judge ourselves based on the actions of those around us, as being good or bad, and we call that methodology Relativism. Atheists have taken this to the extreme around the country, as “Progressives” (which makes me laugh) flaunt their gay pride flags all over the country and all over facebook. They change their profile pictures to reflect their support for the sinful lifestyle in which they are unknowingly promoting, and stomp on the Constitution of a country founded under God.

Joe Progressive says he’s “basically a good dude”, he doesn’t hurt anybody, doesn’t steal, doesn’t lie all that often, hasn’t killed anyone…. “so what’s the problem bro?”

The problem bro, is that God is not relative. God is unchanging, and His rules, are His rules. People want to be socially accepted, and as a result base their morality on what feels good at the time, completely unwise to the tricks of the devil. The devil plays on your pride, and therefore can make you feel absolutely GREAT about doing something completely immoral. However, if you are judging by your standards alone, to you it isn’t immoral, and Satan himself will help you to justify it.

Joe Progressive and his new husband, Bob Convenient Atheist, say:

Joe: “Your views on morality are Draconian! Just let LOVE be LOVE! Love wins!”

Bob: “If you need religion just to be a good person, then you’re weak minded and need serious meds.”

Thanks guys, but what is a “good person?” Why are my moral views Draconian, because they are harsh? Cut and dry? Because God said hell awaits for those who don’t follow Him? You can’t be on the fence with Jesus. You’re either with Him, or against Him. He’s made that clear. Jesus said:

"Anyone who isn't with me, opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me.” Gospel of St. Matthew 12:30

Here’s the point, my dear Reader. We need God’s Holy Word to be the backbone of our morality. We need a hard diamond, against which we can test our own character to see how we measure up morally. This Diamond is the Word of the Lord God.

Let’s face it, our basic laws on which most morality in this world are based, come from the Ten Commandments. We aren’t supposed to kill, steal, lie, cheat, etc. Realize that many people across the planet do not feel this way. People in some parts of the world openly condone all of that behavior, especially those in non-Christian areas, if you have reason enough to express those behaviors.

A Letter on Relativism to Bob C. Atheist:

So, Bob C. Atheist, you don’t think you need the Bible to be a morally good person? Newsflash…your basic moral compass is already set by the Bible. Basically being a “good dude” doesn’t cut it with God. You still have thoughts of lust and fornication. You still get angry and hold grudges. You are slow to forgive but quick to anger. You haven’t committed murder, per se’, but have you hated anyone? Jesus says that you’ve committed murder already, in your heart. You’ve never cheated on your spouse, so you aren’t an adulterer, right? That depends, have you ever lusted after someone else other than your spouse? Jesus says that he who lusts after another woman, already committed adultery in his heart. Are you prepared to answer for these sins??

You might be socially accepted as basically being a “good dude”, but how do you look in God’s eyes? Society doesn’t tell us these things, which is why we go to the Word of God for moral advice, instead of our neighbor. God gave us rules to live by, and like me, you likely have violated, or are violating all of them in one form or another.

The kicker? God didn’t make hell for you. God made that place for those who work with and for the devil (those who reject God’s Word). If you get your orders from a fallen society, that’s where you’re headed, because Satan owns this world. It doesn’t matter if society thinks you’re a good guy or girl. Society is fallen, and only God’s judgment matters.

Am I any better than you? No, not in the least. The difference between you and me, and people like me, is that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We, as human beings, need salvation by Jesus Christ more than we need air….and that’s the truth. The wages of sin is death, and that’s why we will all die someday. However, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, beat death. He’s real, He’s alive, and He knows you. He knows you and loves you so much that He’s counted every hair on your head.

We may not always understand God’s ways, for they are way above our ability to understand. Just be still, and know that He is God, Creator of Heaven and Earth. He’s made everything that is visible, and invisible. God loves us so much, that He gave His only Son to die for us, for our sins, to open the Kingdom of Heaven to us. This I speak to you is the truth of Jesus Christ.

If by chance, you want to accept the Salvation of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, repeat this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, I come to you humbly, to ask that you forgive me of my sins, and make yourself Lord over my life. Please cover me in your Blood, and save me from hell. I accept you, Jesus, as my Lord and Savior so that I may serve You and the Father by Your Divine Will, not my own. I give my life to You, Lord, and I ask that you fill me with Your Holy Spirit to guide me throughout my life. You said that whoever believes in You and accepts you as their Lord and Savior, will have eternal life. I love you and believe in you Jesus, please take my heart so that I may be with you forever in Heaven. Amen.

Bob, we have differences in our world views, but I know my moral views come from an infallible source. Your views come from moral Relativism that is killing America and the Body of Christ (the Church). I love you brother, in a real way. We (as Christians) love each other by showing kindness, and caring for one another. I care for you man, that’s why I’m taking the time to write this to you. I want you in Heaven with me as co-heirs to eternal life with Jesus Christ as Our Lord and Savior.

So come with me brother, join us. Jesus wants you, no matter what you've done in the past, you can be forgiven. Let me know.

Dearest Reader, Relativism is the literal snake in the grass in our Church. Satan slips in with Relativism when we least expect it, slowly leading us to a path of destruction. How do I know? I lived it…I fell for it….I’ve been there. We must, continue to use the Word of God, alone, as our moral compass. Society gives you Kim Kardashian, Bruce Jenner’s confusion, and lesbian couples raising little boys to think and act like little girls, while they are all widely applauded in their “bravery” and “courage” to defy the status quo.

We are under attack, my dear Reader. God’s Word has the answers to the questions you are asking, every day, no matter what the circumstance may be. God gave us His Word and His Rulebook. If we live by this, the Lord gives us Armor to keep us from sin. He gave us the Eucharist to strengthen us, and Praise God He gave us His Mother to help us, guide us, and comfort us. The Lord God even gave us His Spirit, to counsel us and lead us in every facet of life.
