We're All Saints

As someone who lives life being looked down on, singled out, and often times not thought of as the greatest person, I have to often remind myself who created me, and why. Being a creation, and daughter of God is an important role. It means that no matter how people see me, I'm important and special to God. It also teaches me about the way that we should be viewing others.
We were created by God in His image. We were created to be the hands, the feet, and the heart of God. We were also created to be His eyes. That means seeing people as creations of Him. That means seeing people with love. That means seeing the good in others. That means realizing that everyone has good in them.
God does not see people as having no potential, no good, no assets, and neither should we. We should see everyone as equal, as having gifts, and as having value. That does not mean looking at someone who is disabled, mentally ill, or different and wanting to make fun of them, ignore them, or not acknowledge them. It means accepting them, reaching out to them, and having compassion towards them. It means showing them the love of Jesus.
I know how it feels to be ignored, not cared about by the most caring people, and to have others look down on me. I also know how it feels to see with God's eyes... And it feels pretty good.
