BAPTISMAL PRESENTATION
One of the greatest mysteries in the Catholic Church is - No one knows who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell when they die. This hidden unknown knowledge is absolute in God's creation. This fact is God's wisdom telling us that it is important for man not to have this knowledge. Not knowing must be important if God made it an absolute. The importance has to do with saving Catholic souls.
Saving Catholic souls is the main purpose of the Catholic Church. The bishop is the chief Shepherd responsible for his flock. The Archdiocese is divided into Parishes governed by the Pastor. Within most Parishes is a Catholic grammar school and faith formation programs for public school children and adults. There are also Catholic high schools throughout the Archdiocese. The faith formation of the children and adults in receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation is the responsibility of the Pastor. The school has a principal, and the faith formation programs, usually a Director of Religious Education. Also, a crucial element in the faith formation of the children are the parents.
Concerning saving Catholic souls by getting from this life to Heaven (God's will), the Church has the knowledge and ability to make it possible; but it requires the cooperation of the parents. Children must also be properly faith formulated to give them the best chance of achieving eternal life by getting to Heaven. Because God loves us so greatly, He does not make it difficult. However, proper faith formation requires a close relationship with Jesus Christ, the true and only path to Heaven.
Since no one knows who goes to Heaven and who goes to Hell when they die, how can we be assured of getting to Heaven when our life on earth ends? The answer to this question lies in the love that God the Father has for us, His children.
Since we are living in the last times of creation, we have an advantage in knowing God's will. Prior to God sending His Son into our world, its inhabitants were living in the dark. Two thousand years ago God sent a great light into our world, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to proclaim that the Kingdom of God (Heaven) is at hand. Born of the Virgin Mary, He spent the last three years of His life on earth explaining how to get from this earthly life to eternal life in Heaven with their Creator.
Before Christ returned to Heaven, He formed His Church, the Catholic Church. He also made it possible for all future generations to experience Himself in the Eucharist. This was made possible through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass; fulfilling God's Commandment to keep holy the Sabbath day, Sunday Mass.
Jesus the Son of God said, if you love me obey my Commandments. He also said, unless you eat My Body and drink My Blood, you have no life in you. These words proclaimed by Jesus Christ while on this earth are very prophetic. lt is a way of saying that the Catholic path to Heaven and eternal life is attending Sunday Mass every week and receiving the Eucharist. This spiritual experience will keep a soul in the state of God's grace. lt will also allow Jesus Christ the chance of helping to develop a close relationship with that soul.
