My Struggle
Lord,
my understanding and perception
of everything Yours
is weakened
by my constant struggle
within the all-encompassing net of confusion
thrown over me by Clever and Malicious Design.
I am caught!
Imprisoned within this wicked web.
The more I flail and fight
to escape the doubt and ignorance
that cloud all comprehension,
the more entrapped I become.
That Diabolical Creator of all mirrored images
and dead-end mazes
has woven such an entanglement
that I fear never to escape.
The more I wrestle
within its entwining mesh,
the more twisted, trapped and perplexed
I become.
Lord,
release this struggling
butterfly-of-a-soul!
Ease its frantic fluttering.
Let it soar freely
Heavenward.
