To Forgive like the Lord Jesus
There are sometimes we get a little insight to the importance of what we are saying.
Our prayers are important, they might even be the same prayers that we all say,
but there is our very own uniqueness in our offering, when we offer them to Jesus. Every Our Father or Hail Mary, our Hail Holy Queen or the Apostles creed, it becomes our own interpretation when said from our heart. Our emotions, our thoughts, our wants, our praying for our own intentions for our families and ourselves. The prayers will be the same, but our needs and supplications will be unique to our own prayer.
Our Lord Jesus wants us to spend time with him and pray to him. We need to spend time with him and pray to him. He needs us us as the parts of the body of Christ to help to carry out his work. Our Jesus will come to our aid when we do that.
Praying should be a part of our day every day. And many times throughout the day if we can.
Not only does that strengthen our relationship with our Lord Jesus, it has a great side effect or bonus of bringing us to a state of calm, a calmness that is priceless, especially in our hectic world at this time in history.
Our Lord Jesus offers us back a peace that the world cannot give.
Mathew 11.28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
There are scriptures that tell us that Jesus is the name above all names. He is our strength and guidance in our life.
It is something that stood out for me when recently watching a talk on television. It was Christian tv and it was a powerful discussion on how our Lord Jesus is the centre of our faith, but I couldn’t help but notice the absence of his name. Yes, they used other words, they said our God on occasion, our Lord more often, he and him, but for me it felt like there was such a waste of an opportunity to use the beautiful name of Jesus. After all, why not use the most Holy Powerful name of Jesus as often as is possible? What a strength we have been gifted, what a blessing to shower over all of the recipients there who hear that powerful name? How many miracles could be attributed to our Lord Jesus name.
The Holy Powerful name of Jesus, the name above all names.
What a gift we have there
Our Holy Sacred Scripture has many verses that show there among the sacred scriptures there is the name above all names , the most Holy Powerful name of Jesus.
John 20.31
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given
And the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
John 16.23
But Peter said “ I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene rise up and walk!”
Philippians 2.9
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Ephesians 1:21
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name.
Mathew 6.9
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Collossions 1:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
Our world is waiting, waiting for the redeemer, and while we wait, surely we could and most definitely should call upon that name, that beautiful name of Jesus.
Our Lord Jesus asks us, to trust him, to surrender to him and don’t take on the worries of the world on our own shoulders. No, he tells us to not let ourselves get nervous by worrying, to leave the care of our affairs to him and that complete surrender to him produces the effect that we desire and it resolves all difficult situations when we Do that.
How reassuring is that? To let our worries go to the Lord and he will sort them out!
