Have a Holy and Happy Christmas: We can celebrate Jesus in the world

Hi there fellow Christians, it’s that special time of the year again. Some would say it’s the most wonderful time of the year. The beautiful Christmas season when our Lord Jesus was born.
When Mary and Joseph brought forth the son of God. The saviour who had been prophesied for many long years. There he came, into the world just like we did, except he was born in a manger, beside some animals, on a bed of straw. No cosy warm house available for them.
How poor this would have appeared and yet, nearby in the fields, where shepherds were watching their flocks, this beautiful baby boy was announced to the them by beautiful choirs of angels as the messiah of the world.
There he was lying in a manger. He was born fully human and yet fully divine.
And the Angels sang at his birth and the skies were filled with songs off worship. How majestic and precious is that?.
The beautiful season of Christmas is enjoyed and loved all over the world by so many people. Different country’s with different nationalities and some with different customs.
The big business of commercialism that surrounds it has only grown over the years, more imaginative toys, more holiday breaks, more treats, all making more and more money for the industry.
Yes, a lot of that leads to enjoyment for people and that’s great.
But what about our Lord Jesus?, he who came to the world at Christmas.
What about what he would like us to do?
And what about us and our need for him?
What about the crucial nurture of our very soul?
Well we can go to mass, yes, if we can in these restricted times. Or go online to mass if need be.
But we can also find a quiet place somewhere and connect ourselves with Jesus, even in our own home. The need to pray more if not already felt by you, can also be nurtured by you, yourself.
