The Best Gift

There are many people who believe that Facebook, and other types of Social Media are bad. It is a different way of connecting with people, and it's not the same as having a face to face relationship with someone. And there has been bullying, divorce, and a lot of cruel things that have happened because of Facebook.
On the flip side, Facebook has been used for good. I've seen many examples of this. One of the ways it is used for good is prayer. I've seen countless people who post about losing a loved one, or even a pet. I've done it myself. And it's amazing how many people come forward and offer prayers, and good thoughts. I've also seen posts from people who are just having a bad day and simply need prayers. They get them that way too. I've also seen many pages made for more serious situations. Yesterday, a friend posted a page for a newborn baby who is having a lot of heatlh problems. The family created the page simply for the power of prayer.
It says in the Bible that, ""For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." There is power in prayer, and power in numbers. Facebook is a good way to reach lots of people who are willing to pray for others. It's a way to support others in times of need. It can be a way to pray for strangers. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. And we are called to help each other. What better gift than to lift up others in prayer. What better way to show the doubting that God is real then to witness and pray.
It is very rewarding to use Facebook for good, and to see the appreciation from others when anyone, but especially strangers offer their support, and prayers. Yesterday, I said I would pray for a complete stranger. It felt right, and I know and believe that God sees my efforts. He knows what is in my heart, and that what I'm doing is good.
Facebook does not have to be all negative. It can be and should be used for good, and prayer is just one way.
