Heading into Ordinary Days

“…Be still, and know that I am God…”
These days more and more people are clinically diagnosed to be anxious. There are probably a multitude of reasons for these unexplained anxieties to creep into one’s head. And often the corporations take advantage of these individuals and start pumping them with drugs and countless billable counseling hours. Maybe we can try to attack anxiety through a spiritual lens.
The Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Also “And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life? If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?” in Luke 12: 25-26
Anxiety cripples not only the person who is anxious but even more the people that are in their life. This is exactly what the evil one wants for us. All joy and gladness come from God and the evil one wants to destroy any ounce of hope, love and joy we have in our lives and one of the modern tactics of the devil is to bind human beings in this sad, depressed and anxious world.
Sometimes, it is good to go back to the basics. I will try to put a few things down that can hopefully be used as a guide to try to make your days a little more filled with joy.
Example: Bad thought: “Oh no, I have that really stressful meeting today”. Replacement thought: “Yay! I have a job”.
I hope this article helps at least one family to have a happier life: The life God wants you to have today and every day. Remember that there is always at least one reason to be happy.
