The Holy Family's Guardian Angels

A beautiful woman wearing a crown of roses and seated in a globe of light, her head in her hands, her elbows on her knees, wept. The Blessed Mother appeared to two children, Melanie Calvat and Maimin Guiraud, in La Salette, France in September of 1846. Our lady wept for her children of France and for her Son’s Church. As any good mother would, she lovingly warned the children of a chastisement that would befall their land if her people did not convert and amend their ways.
“She wept all the time that she spoke to us..I clearly saw her tears, they flowed and flowed unceasingly.”
As tears flowed, Mary relayed to the children, “There are none who go to Mass except a few aged women. The rest work on Sunday all summer; then in the winter, when they know not what to do, they go to Mass only to mock at religion. During Lent, they go to the meat-market like dogs”. She lamented over the fact that the people did not honor the Lord’s Day and that they were carelessly swearing in the name of her Son.
“There will come a great famine. Before the famine comes, the children under seven years of age will be seized with trembling and will die in the hands of those who hold them; the others will do penance by the famine.” “Well, my children, you will make this known to all my people.”
Missing Mass on Sundays and using the Lord’s Name in vain, are seen today as minor transgressions. Our Lady of La Salette’s painful sorrow and weeping beg to differ. The people of La Salette believed in this miracle apparition and heeded our lady’s warning. But people soon forget and evil lurks back into the world guiding man away from God and away from peace.
In 1917, during a time of revolutions and war, our loving mother once again visited the earth and gave messages to children. Lucia dos Santos, and Francisco and Jacinta Marto began receiving apparitions on May 13th in Fatima, Portugal. Our lady asked for a devotion to the Holy Trinity and for daily praying the Rosary for world peace.
The messages culminated on October 13, 1917 with a promised miracle of the sun. Thousands witnessed the sun dance, spin and appear to plummet to the earth. The children attested to seeing Jesus, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, St. Joseph, and Our Lady of Sorrows during the miraculous event. As foretold by the beautiful lady, Francisco and Jacinta were taken to heaven at a young age. Lucia would live a long, quiet religious life and would receive additional messages.
At the age of 18, Lucia was a postulant with the Sisters of St. Dorothy in Spain. It was there in her cell that she saw the Virgin Mary again with the Child Jesus. Jesus told her, “Have pity on the Heart of your Most Holy Mother. It is covered with the thorns with which men pierce it at every moment, and there is no one to remove them with an act of reparation.” Mary also warned of another great and terrible war.
The Blessed Mother revealed the remedy for her pierced heart, “To prevent this, I shall come to the world and ask that Russia be consecrated to my Immaculate Heart, and shall ask that on the first Saturday of every month, Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins of the world. If my wishes are fulfilled, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, then Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, bringing new wars and persecution of the Church; the good will be martyred, and the Holy Father will have much to suffer; certain nations will be annihilated.”
But in the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and the world will enjoy a period of peace.”
May, 1948, Pope Pius XII called for the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary of every Catholic family, parish and diocese. Consecration of the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was achieved by Pope John Paul II in March, 1984. One request was fulfilled; however, First Saturday devotion has never held wide spread participation. Mary kept weeping.
Sister Agnes of Akita, Japan in 1973 was a witness to Mary’s unending sorrow. Sister Agnes, who was deaf at the time, heard a voice that seemed to originate from a statue of the Virgin Mary. The statue was carved from a block of wood from the Katsura tree and stood about 3 feet tall. Visible to the other sisters, was drops of blood flowing from the statue’s right hand.
Sister Agnes described this event, “I suddenly felt that the wooden statue came to life and was about to speak to me…and at the same moment a voice of indescribable beauty struck my totally deaf ears.” Once again, our lady had a message. “..if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms, which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priest. The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres..churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises…The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness.”
This same statue of the Blessed Virgin began weeping two years later in January, 1975 and continued to weep off and on for six years for a total of 101 times. It was on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Sorrows, September 15th, that the statue cried for the last time.
There are many more reports of Mary statues and icons weeping. A pilgrim statue of Our Lady of Fatima was photographed weeping in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1972. More recently, she has been seen weeping in New Mexico and Chicago. Her message remains constant: repent, do penance and sacrifices, and pray the Rosary daily for reparations.
Sister Agnes of Akita was deaf; yet, she heard and obeyed her mother. Our world today is deaf to the cries of our mother and has turned a blind eye to sin.
Division, revolution, hatred, and atheism continue to spread. This time we live in is the reason for Mary’s sorrow. We must spread Mary’s messages for conversion and reparations. We must dry her tears and offer our consolations of prayer and penance in the name of Her Son, Jesus.
Clearly, she has cried enough!
