Suffering

“Some of them he exalted and hallowed, and some of them he made ordinary days.”
- Sirach 33:9
We are now entering the ordinary time in the liturgical year. Does that mean, we just live day by day with no impact to our spiritual life? Absolutely not! We can take Jesus’ life as a model for us to grow spiritually during the ordinary days. After Jesus’ birth and before his death and resurrection is when he performed miracles, taught people and communicated to God the Father. A major part of Jesus’ life which is often missed because there is not much written, is the time when Jesus was living the life of a son in the house of Joseph and Mary in Nazareth.
Jesus served his parents with humility and love. I can only imagine the heaven on earth the little home of Nazareth would have been. Two saints and God himself; Wow! We can try to emulate and learn from Jesus, Mary and Joseph by creating a heaven within our own homes by modeling the life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph by the role we serve in our own families.
