Nobody Knew it Was Coming, But When it Did, it Changed Us All

All of us are living in a time in our lives that we may have thought only to have seen in the movies. This COVID 19 virus has made some people afraid, and certainly quarantine has kept us “in social distance” of each other.
I miss seeing my friends, talking to people on the street while I walk my dog, and most of all I wish I could have attended my children’s graduation.
In addition to this world situation, I personally experienced a stressful trip to Mexico where I went to say goodbye to my mom. Her departure to heaven left a hole in my heart.
Although all these sorrowful circumstances could make us feel depressed, my faith has helped me to stay happy and hopeful. My secret? Let me share it with you:” Be thankful “.
Every day when I wake up, I make myself think of at least ten things I am grateful for. Believe me, ten is an easy number to reach.
I am alive. I have faith. I can pray. I can hear the birds singing. I can see the beautiful sky. I can smell the pancakes my husband makes for breakfast. I can hug my family and feel my mom’s love in all those uncountable kisses she gave me during my life. I can hear my dog barking so loud that he wakes me up, and as soon as I call him, he comes to say good morning.
If there is something I have learned this quarantine, it is to not take anything for granted and accept everything as a gift from heaven. That is what I call my children: “my gifts from heaven”.
So, friends, do not count your troubles, but your blessings. Always and everywhere give thanks to God.
Have a blessed day!
