Getting Ready To Leave

We Catholic365 Volunteer Contributing Writers are used to being online. With the COVID 19 Pandemic there are many local online church events happening for the first time. However, although they are pioneers and are not used to it, the affect is extraordinarily satisfying.
This is some of my experience:
• The forgiveness at the beginning of a local church online Mass helped me to focus out of the sad news. Especially after the first Catholic Priest † in America had died from the virus. Rest in Peace.
• The Divine Office Breviary with a Priest from our Diocese on Live/Video was comforting as I missed being able to chant with our Benedictine Monks.
• The Lectio Divina Video and Comment Time was good to connect with Community since there was cancellation of a retreat.
• And, of course there are prayers and updates.
Connecting to the Body of Christ in our local way is comforting while in Quarantine. It's still Lent while I'm writing this. I'm receiving information now for Holy Week at home. After Easter I'm going to try to cope by remembering that the Apostles were in the Upper Room for quite awhile.
Stay Home, Stay Safe is what's happening around here, at least until May.
I have the privilege of getting to help edit poems. I was given permission to share this one with you. Gary also writes song lyrics.
!EASTER 2020 !
Easter but the Churches are Closed!
On the Day we should remember
God’s Son arose!
Actually think about the reason why:
Jesus came to Earth to die !
Not about colored eggs or the chocolate Easter bunny,
This day is not meant to be funny .
But a day to reflect
on the past and where we stand,
Now bow your head and fold your hands !
You don’t need a church building or a crowd,
Just say thank you to God out Loud !
Jesus Arose from the grave,
For all our sinful souls to save!
