PRAYER GROUPS IGNITE

Step by step, belonging and participating in the Church, I have known about Saints, their lives and how they imitated Christ. Father Pio of Pietrelcina, Saint John Bosco and Saint Philip Neri had something in common, they promoted prayer groups. In the case of John and Philip, they related with children, youth, with a methodology about singing, playing games, fraternity, teachings and praying. And in the case of Fr. Pio, he related more with praying, intercession, the rosary, and the Mass.

What about prayer groups of today? How they should be?

Well, the bible gives us a light “They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers” Acts 2, 42. ……So, we must keep on applying these: Teachings, Praying, Fraternity. But what about the teachings? Are they being complete?

I have noticed teachings are lacking some real important topics. Of course, we start with the Kerygma, which is the fundamental part, but we alsp need to know about Saints, Mary, devotions, confession, eucharistic miracles, chastity, engagement, service, works of mercy, virtues, liturgy of the hours, reparation, being pro-life, praying, church,…………..and also be aware of yoga, reiki, new age, halloween, rock and reggaeton music, abortion, gender ideology, etc……and why do we have to know about these, especially the last topics?

The main reason is because the authentic disciple must be instructed very well, so he can be a better apostle, specially laypersons who are in society.

Nowadays, in the whole world there are common enemies, like ideologies, trends, music, etc…that are attacking the family, the society, moral standards, the Church, God, Mary. And a lot of people who belong to church don’t know about this. They don’t search about this to better understand, and also they don’t receive information at Mass. So what are we doing?

Let’s have prayer groups ignited by the fire of the holy spirit, and who are well educated in the faith to better glorify God.
